Community Outreach
Thank you for affording City Life Church NPC the opportunity to present our Joseph Project Initiatives to your organisation.
We are living in an unprecedented time of economic hardship, that has had an enormous impact on the poorest communities, leaving thousands of people in the many informal settlements around our city, destitute, homeless, hungry, unemployed and in despair.
Righteousness and Justice are core to the values of City Life Church, and we feel a great responsibility to do the very best we can to make an impact to the individuals and in turn the communities around our area, that have the greatest basic needs. The Joseph Project is our Justice and Compassion arm, which provides care and support to the poor and needy in the communities and informal settlements that surround both our church locations in Lonehill as well as Clearwater on the West Rand.
We believe every person has a right to be treated with dignity, to have access to basic provisions such as food, clothes etc, and to have their spiritual needs met through encouragement, language specific teaching materials and evangelism. Through our Joseph Project, we are able to provide for individuals within these communities in a variety of ways. This includes non- perishable food parcels, (feeding a family of up to four people for two – four weeks at a time). We also provide clothing items and basic hygiene products such as soap, nappies, toothpaste, sanitary wear etc. in order to assist with their most basic physical needs.
The Joseph Project also supports a local informal nursery school called Reagometswe Nursery School, where we have provided school shoes, School bags and stationary each year for the children that are moving from nursery school to grade 1 and who have families that cannot afford these items.
The Joseph Project makes various donations to St Laurence Children’s Haven, in Roodepoort, who provide love, and a warm home for 29 children all varying in age from 6 months to 18 years old, who have endured abuse, and have been neglected or abandoned by their families.
The Joseph project has recently adopted a new initiative to provide sanitary wear for 120 young girls at Enkolweni School in Dobsonville, whose families do not have the financial means to provide for these basic hygiene needs. This often results in these young ladies missing school for weeks at a time.
Our goal for 2023 is to widen our reach, and increase the number of people we can assist with food parcels and supplies, and have kicked off our Food Pantry Initiative to assist with gathering the required resources on an ongoing basis in order to meet greater needs. We will also continue to adopt future projects within our community with the hope of helping to lift the burden of their unfortunate circumstances in various ways to provide relief, and encourage them with a message of hope.
Any additional resources and funding received for our Joseph Project would not only help us reach more people in a greater geographical area with food and urgent supplies, but it will also enable us to give a greater support to Reamogetswe Pre School, St Laurence Childrens Haven, Enkolweni Primary School, and in time, the opportunity to onboard additional projects in the informal areas who have similar needs.
Your contribution would be a great advantage to our under resourced communities and bring much needed upliftment in these areas. We want to thank you for taking the time to consider contributing towards our organisation, and know that together we can build a brighter future for our community and our beautiful city!
Sincerely
